Boiling
Intense vaporization throughout the entire volume of liquid with the formation and growth of steam bubbles.
Boiling begins when the saturated vapor pressure is equal to the external pressure.
Specific heat of vaporization
The energy required to convert a unit mass of liquid into vapor at the boiling point.
When condensing the same mass of steam, the same amount of energy is released in modulus.
Boiling point and pressure
The boiling point decreases as the external pressure decreases and increases as it increases.
High in the mountains, water boils below one hundred degrees, and in a pressure cooker, increased pressure allows it to heat up more.
